Blog No.54: Target audience (third example)
According to the name of the song and the costumes all the actors wear, it could occur that this music video is targeted at upper, middle and working classes. Throughout the video all the actors wear a selection of clothes that resembles all three classes. Robbie wears a work suit (upper class) and a leather jacket (middle and working class). The location of where this was all filmed could also represent the class the video is aimed at. Although the video is not filmed in London, it's filmed in a suburban area of the city. Capital cities usually represent wealth and power which signify the upper class. This could suggest that "Goin Crazy" targets a middle and working class audience.
Age
Unlike the first and second example, this music video doesn't depict any child or teenage actors but it could still target a young audience since there are no swear words in the lyrics. However, it's likely that this music video targets a teenage audience because of the goth-like appearance Dizzee Rascal wears. Although this video targets a teenage and adult audience, it could also target an elderly audience as well. At the start of the video, Robbie gives an elderly man his shopping and all the actors ride on mobility scooters. But it's unlikely that an elderly audience would like this type of music since it involves a Hip-Hop genre. Therefore, I think this music video is aimed for those between the ages of 14-45.
Gender
There doesn't appear to be many female actors in this video but that doesn't mean that this video is aimed for a male audience only. Since Robbie Williams is known to be involved in other music videos like "Candy" (song about a woman) and "Love My Life" (included female actors), this could suggest that "Goin Crazy" can also target a female audience. Overall I'd say that it's aimed 60% for males and 40% for females.
Ethnicity
Similar to the first and second example, "Goin Crazy" involves white and black actors, targeting all ethnic groups. However, it's mostly aimed at a British audience. The video is set near London and some of the actors wear the Union Jack flag and one of them rides a mobility scooter with a Royal Air Force logo (0:34).
